Sometimes spending a weekend somewhere is all you need to know the area and consider moving there. Little Rock has a little bit of everything! From the incredible history here to the eternal nature and beautiful architecture, it’s easy to fall in love with this city.
These are the best things to stop and enjoy while in Little Rock and why it’s such a great area.
1. Check Out the Metro Streetcar
Streetcars are awesome ways to get around every city that peaks in the late 1800s and early 1900s: but you can still check out a modern system! Although the original ended in the 1940s, the current system uses replica vintage electric trolleys that look fantastically similar to what the originals were.
This is an awesome way to enjoy a little history and fun excitement while also getting carried to and from other attractions.
2. Explore the Rock Town Distillery
There’s nothing as popular as a distillery on the weekend! The Rock Town Distillery is a craft artisan and award-winning business that uses local grain and creates fantastic drinks. Anyone of any age can tour this amazing business, but of course, you have to be 21 or older to get a taste. This tour is an hour and a half long and ends in the gift shop, where you can find some spirits to take home!
3. Hike the Big Dam Bridge
Everyone could use a breath of fresh air after a long day of looking at Little Rock houses for sale! This bridge is the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the country that was built for this purpose. Connecting 70,000 acres of city, state, county, and federal parks, it allows you to get the most out of nature while simply walking.
4. Check Out the Museum of Discovery
If you have kids, it’s a good idea to make a weekend stop that will leave them excited to learn and see more. This is the oldest museum in the city, yet it’s able to keep things fresh and interesting for anyone who stops in.
With a collection of over 14,000 artifacts that tie historical and cultural importance to the building, this museum also has countless educational programs, summer camps, and interactive science experiments for people of any age.
5. Old State House Museum
Sometimes the best way to get to know history is to walk through it! This awesome old state house has been turned into a modern museum that walks you through the lives people have led here, as well as the importance of what the government did in these rooms when compared to the modern day.
Here you can also enjoy a walk through Black American quilting, Arkansas pottery, and so much more!

Whether you’re from out of state or you live here and have never had a chance to explore the city, there are countless reasons to fall in love with Little Rock! Consider checking out some of these weekend attractions soon!
